News: Big Ideas Week Begins February 20th

The third week of February (20th – 26th) will be “Big Ideas Week” – a special event on SciFi Ideas.
February 20th is a special date for SciFi Ideas; it marks our one year anniversary. On February 20th 2011 the original SciFi Ideas WordPress blog was created, with the first three articles being posted the next day. It’s amazing how far we’ve come in such a short space of time.
To mark this occasion, I’ve decided to name the week beginning February 20th as the date for a special event on SciFi Ideas, titled “Big Ideas Week”.
What is Big Ideas Week?
Since the success of last summer’s “Alien Week”, I’ve been toying with the idea of hosting another special event. The original plan was to run a “Planet Week” to help fill up our “planet profiles” category. However, instead of confining ourselves to just one area, I’ve decided to open the week up to articles of every type, but with a special emphasis on story ideas, planet profiles and alien profiles.
I’ll be adding lots of fresh content to the site myself (I’ve already begun work on several articles), and I’m hoping that readers will contribute some of their own ideas too.
Contribute to Big Ideas Week
You can contribute almost anything to “Big Ideas Week”, so long as it falls within our usual submission guidelines. Specifically, what we’re looking for are original ideas from your own imagination. You could submit a story synopsis (perhaps you don’t have the time to develop your story idea, but you think somebody else should), an idea for an interesting alien species or an article about an unusual alien planet.
You’ll be fully credited for your article, and you can use it to promote yourself, your work or your website.
Please review our submission guidelines before submitting your articles via email to admin@scifiideas.com. If you have any questions about “Big Ideas Week” or what to submit, feel free to send them to the same email address, or use the comments section below.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, “Alien Week” is scheduled to make a reappearance this summer too!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to reading your contributions.
