Inspiration Gallery #0515

This month’s Inspiration Gallery features the artwork of Adam Kuczek. Adam has been working as a freelance concept artist since 2011, and in that time he has contributed to development of a number of sci-fi movies, including Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending.

These images were selected from the artist’s DeviantArt gallery and were created for various personal projects. If you’re interested in his concept art for Jupiter Ascendind you’ll find some of it here.

When I watch scifi-art I have a general parameter to guide my observation. I use to wonder whether the designer is mainly interested in futurist speculation (with a focus on technology, architecture, town infrastructure etc…) or in fantastic imagery and mind landscapes (open to the dimension of the adventurous, legendary, archetypal etc. )
They are not two groups rigidly defined, but rather the extremes of a scale with a very nuanced gradient between them. I dare say this artist is somehow in the middle, maybe slightly leaning to the second side.
If he’s in the movie picture industry, as stated, I’d like to see some of these pictures (especially the last, the one with the “portal”) as chroma-key backdrops.

    This is a impressive work.
